Shining Star

As usual Mystic was a the shining star as last weekends OHSET meet! From the moment he got off the trailer he was the talk of the show and totally was showing off! He handled riding in crowed (and I mean crazy gamers running straight up your horses butt or stopping right in front of you or about taking your knee off riding by at a full gallop) like a pro and didnt mind at all. He had only been cantering for about 2 weeks prior to going and his transitions were incredible for his lack of time spent on it. People couldnt believe that he was only 3 years old. He had his first team penning experience and it was a funny one! The cows literally all walked up to him and were following him where ever he went, the crowd got a kick out of it but sadly no video was taken and the picture guy didnt get any pictures of it :( Saturday he had his first run at the gaming events. Once again he was amazing. He was ridden by a team mate of mine because the horse she was supposed to use went lame right before the meet. He was golden for her and competed in canadian flags, birangle, pole bending, and barrels. Next meet I hope to do some more performance events with him next meet.

T-5 days!

Thursday we are headed to our first OHSET meet of the year! We are very excited. Although I dont feel prepared enough in the riding aspect for the most part I am really excited to see how the boys are. Mystic will be doing IHOR, Canadian Flags, Team Penning, maybe Birangle, and another gaming event yet to be decided. It will be a great outing for him and cant wait to see how he takes it all in. The cows will be interesting because he hasnt seen them at all here or worked them at all but were just doing it for the laughs!
As basketball wraps up I am going to really crack down on riding both my boys to get them going better. Mystic is now cantering under saddle but we have a lot of work still to do. For how much time he has under saddle cantering he is doing far better then I would ever expect. He does have a little stubborn/spoiled part in his brain but it mostly just provides entertainment :)

I am one lucky horse owner!

I am pretty certain I have two of the best horses in the world! Both have not been really worked since Monday due to personal things in my life occurring (aka: very sucky week) and both were perfect today! Mystic got brushed out and braided up then went out and did some lunging to prepare for tomorrow which will be his first canter work undersaddle!! A Wild Hair

Mystic had a little interesting day earlier this week but came out A-okay thankfully! He is back to being worked now and doesnt seem fazed by it at all. Here are some pictures of his destruction :)

Star Child!

Not really sure what I would do without this boy! He is flat out adorable and perfect to boot :) I can call him from all the way across the pasture and he lifts his head up and come full on galloping up to meet me. He travels like a dream (I am way to blessed with not one but two horses that travel like a dream) and is a very quick learner. Today he got to come to OHSET practice and carried Alanna around some while I schooled my naughty pony and then he got to pony Tolo around at the end to cool him out. He was perfect for all of it! Tomorrow we are (hopefully!) really cracking down on the riding thing and will be ready for OHSET!

No Big Deal

Mystic Man got into his new barn tonight! Settled in great. hopped off the trailer, walked into his stall, and starting eating his hay! I brushed him while he eat then took him out to the arena to check it out and also lunged him a little bit. All the other horses were looking funny, it was super cute! Couldnt have asked for a better moving :)

New Digs

Mystic will be moving into his new digs either Sunday or Monday! We are very excited that he will be able to get out on pasture more (although not so excited about the mud and having to very very very frequently bathe him but I will!).Best part is I already know some people out there, along with one of my best friends! Cant wait to see the progress we make while there. Pictures will be posted when he is all moved in!
